What we do
- Compare products using the numbers printed on their labels: EPA and DHA per serving, servings per container and price.
- Calculate the cost per 1,000 mg of EPA and DHA, so different bottles can be compared on the same basis.
- Read the freshness and purity reports that brands or testing labs publish, such as IFOS reports, and say what the numbers do and do not show.
- Link to public health sources, such as the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements and the FDA, when we discuss doses and safety.
What we do not do
- We are not doctors, dietitians or pharmacists, and nothing on this site is medical advice. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting a supplement, especially if you are pregnant, take medicines or have a health condition.
- We do not run our own lab tests on products. We rely on labels and on test reports that others have published, and we say so when a report is old or covers a different batch.
